ANZSEE Biennial Conference : Ecological Economic Perspectives from Islands and Across Oceans

Location: Moreton Bay Research Station (MBRS), Minjerribah-North Stradbroke Island, Queensland

Tentatively the conference will start 2pm Friday 4th October and finish Sunday 5pm with extra island-based eco-social cultural activities on Monday.  An ANZSEE dinner and AGM will be scheduled alongside this conference.

The Conference will focus on key research areas linked to Ecological Economics analysis, perspectives, and policies, including:

  1. Sustainable and healthy national, regional and urban communities and ecosystems 
  2. Marine and coastal environments and people
  3. Building adaptive capacity and resilience in uncertain times via ecological economic-informed solutions  
  4. Ecological limits and planetary boundaries 
  5. Ecological ethics and worldviews and intrinsic value/s of nature 
  6. First Nations and Indigenous communities/economies
  7. Embedding ecological economics in education systems
  8. Other topics consistent with the integrated multiple disciplinary perspectives of ecological economics.

Note that the full conference fee covers Friday to Sunday, day rate is for either Saturday or Sunday
Monday will be the field activities day away from the MBRS site

Costs above cover your conference fees, lunch, morning and afternoon tea for days when conference sessions will be held.  You will pay additionally for your travel, accommodation, conference dinner, nature trips and cultural events on the island. We plan to include some festivities/entertainment in the evenings.

Accommodation : A variety of options are available on the island including shared economical on-site accommodation at the Conference site at MBRS.  These options and their respective cost will be provided in the near future.  Please note that Stradbroke Island/Minjerribah is the land and waters of the Quandamooka people.  All visitors to the MBRS are required to undertake an induction.
