Leo has been on the ANZSEE Executive Committee since August 2018 and is a PhD student in Environmental Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He completed his Bachelor of Science in 2015 majoring in Environmental Science and Geography and has recently concluded his PhD studies. His thesis explored land use options and change on the East Coast of New Zealand’s North Island, working collaboratively with Maori landowners. His research is particularly focussed on the role that carbon farming can play in the development of Maori land and how this intersects with climate justice, finance and colonisation.
